Criminalization of our children

The mindset. All schools want one hundred per cent result. As a result, a child is pressurized to work harder then it is good for him. Parents too are to be blamed. They have great expectations from their children. They are always after their children to fair well. These days children have no time for themselves or to play. They go to school, come back, go again to this tution classes or some other extra curricular activities. Plus there is always homework to do. No time for healthy activities like sports and other out door games.

Parents and schools forget that every child is not brilliant. Most children are of average intelligence. Very few are bright. Every child is different. Their grasp is different, their temperament is different, their power to concentrate and absorb is different. Brilliant students take pressure in their stride. Ordinary students can’t. This mindset of parents and schools instigate children to commit crimes like copying, procuring question papers, giving bribes to get marks increased and even go to the extent of kidnapping in order to get money for all these criminal activities. They are caught, punished, humiliated and thus, a criminal is born.

To sum up – today, a student of a class six or seven is more burdened and stressed than, say a grown up man like somebody working in a bank or a government office. These persons are stress free at least before going to office and after leaving it, whereas a child is under stress all day.
